Jovan Franklin is a Kansas City, Missouri-based pageant and modeling consultant, entrepreneur, and industry professional with more than 20 years of experience in pageantry. Through J.Nicole Consulting, she travels nationwide and works virtually with clients across the United States and internationally, helping contestants, models, and titleholders develop the confidence, preparation, and strategy needed to succeed both on and beyond the stage.

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Marketing, Jovan has built a career that blends pageantry, media, personal branding, modeling, and mentorship. Her coaching specializes in interview preparation, stage presence, runway and modeling development, personal branding, social media strategy, and helping clients discover what authentically sets them apart.

Jovan is also an accomplished competitor herself. Her titles include Miss Black Kansas 2008, Mrs. Essence 2010, Mrs. Kansas US Universal 2016, and Mrs. Missouri Galaxy 2026. Most recently, she represented Missouri on the international stage at the 2026 Galaxy International Pageant in Nassau, Bahamas, where she earned the title of 4th Runner-Up. Her competitive background also extends into fitness, where she placed 3rd Runner-Up in bikini competition in 2017.

Her experience reaches beyond competing and coaching. Jovan serves as the director of Miss Midwest Regional, a one-day pageant experience designed to give contestants valuable stage experience and professional feedback while preparing them for larger state, national, and international competitions. She has also expanded her work through national sponsorships, workshops, speaking opportunities, on-site coaching, and collaborations throughout the pageant industry.

One of Jovan’s greatest influences as a consultant has been experiencing the industry from both sides of the stage. Her daughter, Brooklyn Franklin, began competing at a young age and has since earned an international title and multiple national titles while developing a career in modeling, fashion design, entrepreneurship, athletics, and social media. Their journey has given Jovan firsthand experience not only as a competitor and coach, but also as a pageant mom navigating the industry alongside her daughter.

Beyond the crown and runway, Jovan works with clients to build opportunities that last long after competition weekend. She helps young women strengthen their personal brands, grow their digital presence, develop meaningful platforms, pursue brand collaborations, and confidently step into opportunities in modeling, media, business, and beyond.
